Established in 1999, the MFL has focused on building Christian fellowship through football. We also pride ourselves in keeping a tradition of developing football skills of youth between the ages of 15 and 40 who belong to 12 Chicago-land South Indian churches. Even more importantly, the MFL has had a positive impact on the lives of youth in the community and across the world!
We will be holding our 20th annual MFL Tournament this summer. Teams compete in a round-robin tournament with games officiated by IHSA referees. Over 250 athletes compete and hundreds of their family and friends attend to show their support. Professional photographers and videographers will be on-site to capture each moment, and videos will be uploaded to YouTube a week after the tournament. The weeks surrounding the tournament bring a surge of traffic to our website and YouTube channel as our athletes and fans relive the excitement from tournament day.
Our primary source of revenue is registration fees paid by each participating church and donations received from generous individuals and businesses. In order to continue making this rewarding experience a reality for our youth and community, we are reaching out directly to businesses and offering them the opportunity to help by becoming a corporate sponsor!
A portion of the proceeds are donated to this year’s charity, Hearts in Motion. Hearts in Motion is a faith-based organization that supports humanitarian missions in Guatemala, providing medical care, surgery, basic needs, and human dignity to those facing extreme poverty, homelessness, and malnutrition.
