Our History

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” – Proverbs 27:17

Founded in 1999 by Robby “The Hammer” Abraham, the MFL served primarily as a way to build a stronger brotherhood among the Indian Orthodox Christian youth community in Chicago, IL. Robby’s vision was to bring young men at his church together to play football and use those relationships as a vehicle to share the message of Christ. He would host bible studies after football games and invited speakers to share their testimony at the earliest MFL Tournaments. He strived to create an environment where young men were encouraged to be better men – to be examples of honor, strength, and integrity.
